Spencer Private Hospitals credited for quality of care

Date: 13/10/2015

Spencer Private Hospitals based at Ashford and Margate has received an overall good rating from their recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection. The commission made an evidence-based judgment to ascertain if services are:

  •  Safe
  •  Effective
  •  Caring
  •  Responsive
  •  Well-led

A summary of the findings were that patients were asked to complete a patient experience survey upon discharge. These showed a high level of satisfaction across both sites.

David Osborne who is the Director of Business Development & Strategy at Spencer Private Hospitals has said “As a business we strive to provide quality healthcare and one of the major foundation stones are our CQC reports, which fits alongside our IIP, ISO9001 and 14001 accreditations, PLACE inspections and Excellent Infection control rates.”

Both hospitals have a zero infection control rate. Full details can be found here: www.gov.uk/search?q=IS+HCAI+publication

The reports describe the CQC’s judgement of the quality of care at both hospitals. It is based on a combination of what the commission found when they inspected and a review of all information available to CQC including information given to the CQC from patients, the public and other organisations.
