Date: 01/08/2013

Spencer Private Hospitals are delighted to be sponsoring a local Thanet golfer in his bid to become one of the world’s best. Max Orrin, 19, has been an emerging talent through the English, European and World Boys Amateur circuit and now the Men’s Amateur circuit since starting golf aged 8!

At the end of 2012 he won the Titleist Order of Merit and became the No1 under 18’s player in England.  In addition to this he also ended 2012 as the No 1 ranked player in the Junior World Rankings.  Currently Max is ranked No 8 in the Men’s World Amateur Rankings and is the No 1 ranked European U21 player.

Max’s list of achievements show what a formidable competitor he is as well as the talent he has, with victories in the UK, Europe and America and National representation in South Africa. A full list would make this article a lengthy read but it really is a demonstration of the consistency he has shown throughout his junior years.

With all of this talent you would have thought he would have been tempted to leave Thanet but he is proud of his roots and continues to compete, as he always has done in local and regional competitions.  A regular at North Foreland where they hold him in the highest regard – he last year won their COHEN CUP (Scratch Open).

Alongside his intention to continue to progress his golfing performance at the Top English International level, and win as many of the major amateur competitions as possible, he has eyes for the bigger prizes – to play in the Walker Cup team in 2013 and eventually turn Professional.

Spencer Private Hospitals believe the world of golf will see a lot of Max over the next 20 or so years.
