Thank You from Spencer Private Hospitals

Spencer Private Hospitals have been very fortunate that in the midst of this pandemic we have received support from many sources.

3DCrowd UK is a network of volunteers who have combined efforts to produce face shields using their own 3D printers and coordinate distribution to frontline staff.

We initially requested 100 visors as they were required for our NHS wet AMD clinics (eye clinics) which are vital for patients to maintain their sight. Once they were ready a kind volunteer named Tim offered to deliver them to our Ashford site free of charge and upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find we had been supplied with extra visors. These extra visors have been given to other departments within the William Harvey Hospital.

The Rotary Club and Simon Langton Grammar School have both since made donations to 3Dcrowd UK, allowing us to order further masks for our Margate hospital.

In addition to this Lynn Cottrell of The Fabric Shop in Whitstable has made and donated several sets of scrubs for our staff as well as a selection of face masks. The scrubs are excellent, and we have requested another 50 sets which are expected relatively soon. Herne Bay High School also very kindly donated 170 pairs of goggles from their Science Department, while Suzanne and Dermot of Barton Marine in Whitstable donated 80 face visors.

Spencer Private Hospitals would like to say a special thank you to 3DCrowd UK, Lynn Cottrell, The Rotary Club, Simon Langton Grammar School, Herne Bay High and Barton Marine for their valued contributions. We’d also like to thank our staff, the staff at EKHUFT and the whole of the NHS for their continued efforts in the fight against Covid-19.

If you think you could help us, please contact Denise Davies on 07857 671200 or email using the subject “PPE”.
