Background Information

Mr Nordin was the National Clinical Lead for Gynaecology for the NHS Cancer Services Collaborative from 2001-2008, and continues as the clinical advisor for gynaecology to the national cancer director and NHS Cancer Improvement. He chairs the national group of cancer network lead clinicians and the gynaecology group of the National Cancer Intelligence Network (NCIN). Mr Nordin has served as council member / officer for the British Gynae Cancer (BGCS) and British Colposcopy (BSCCP) societies. He is a specialist advisor to the charity Target Ovarian Cancer, and produced patient educational videos and written information for the NHS Choices website.

Mr Nordin’s research interests include qualitative psychology. He jointly led the European Organisation for Research in Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) quality of life group for gynaecology in the development of a quality of life module for endometrial cancer. He is involved in organising and managing a number of national and international gynaecological cancer clinical trials and is leading on projects to improve clinical outcome assessment for patients following gynaecological cancer surgery.

Mr Nordin specialises in the surgical management of gynaecological malignancies. In addition to gynaecological oncology, he has special interests in minimal access surgery, colposocopy and vulval diseases.
