3D Lipo: An Introduction
The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons report that during 2016 the number of Britons undergoing cosmetic surgery in 2016 was the lowest in nearly a decade. Could that be due to the rise of non-surgical treatments, such as 3D Lipo?
Indeed, when considering the benefits, it does seem likely. The treatment is pain free with instant results and no down time – a HUGE hit with celebrities who choose the non- surgical 3D-lipo rather than go under the knife.
Industry professionals describe 3D-Lipo as a safe, pain free and less invasive procedure, but there are still many aspects to the treatment that need explaining, and questions to be answered…

3D Lipo is an amazing alternative to liposuction offering a powerful new dimension in non-surgical fat removal. As a treatment for non-surgical weight loss, 3D Lipo allows you to target specific areas and problems, using four different types of treatment. This allows each individual to tailor the result they want, is pain free with instant results, no down time and is noticeable from the first session.
There are four types of treatment available, each targeting a different end result. With this in mind, a good place to start is to think about what it is you’d like to achieve: is your main objective to reduce cellulite ahead of bikini season, or do you want to target that stubborn belly bulge that no amount of working out will get rid of? Once you know that, you can choose from the following options:
- Cryolipolysis is a treatment for stubborn packets of fat. Works well on superficial fat. Benefits clients looking for body sculpting.
- Cavitation is a treatment for deeper fat. Larger clients with at least 3cm of fat looking for inch loss treatments. Works well on abdomen, flanks, legs and buttocks
- Radio Frequency Skin tightening and fat ‘melting’. 4 pixel hand piece works well on facial skin tightening and skin tightening on the body after cavitation. 6 pixel hand piece beneficial for a thinner fat layer for smoothing and skin tightening.
- 3D Dermology Lymphatic drainage, increase in blood circulation and smoothing of cellulite. Beneficial after all 3D-Lipo applications to improve the appearance of the skin and smoothness of cellulite.
Please note. These treatments are not suitable for individuals with the following conditions:
- Pregnancy, recent pregnancy or breast feeding
- Heart conditions including pacemaker
- Thrombosis or thrombophlebitis
- Anticoagulant medication
- History of cancer
- Type 1 Diabetes
- Auto immune conditions
3D Lipo and cosmetic surgery may have the same aim in mind, but the way practitioners of the two procedures go about achieving it is very different. That aim is giving you a healthier body, and a healthier, more confident mind. One question we’re always asked is: “Which is better?”
It’s a seemingly simple question, and one you might well want answered quickly, but as with all things medical it is always best not to rush in, but to commit to some research about the procedures, to better benefit your own specific situation. So with that in mind, we’ve detailed some key points that we hope you will find useful.
When we talk about the differences between 3D Lipo and regular liposuction, the most important (and beneficial) talking point should immediately sound appealing: It does not involve incisions, anaesthetics, or the physical removal of fat cells. In other words, you’re not getting opened up – the procedure is completely non-invasive.
This has multiple benefits, the foremost being both safety for the patient, followed by overall comfort.
3D lipo utilises a device that emits low frequencies via ultrasound technology. This low frequency takes the form of consistently-paced ‘waves’ that break down and dissolve fatty cells within the body, like waves breaking down a rocky shore (only much quicker – you won’t be waiting millions of years to feel great about your body).
Patients who have undergone the procedure have described it as quite relaxing and therapeutic, which are things you’ll rarely hear about when asking a patient who has gone under the knife.
As you may have guessed, the non-invasiveness and ease in performance for the nurses results in a lower price tag. The great thing about Medical Science is that breakthroughs are incredibly revolutionary when they come about, and 3D Lipo is one such breakthrough – the lower price for both nursing staff and patient being one of the key factors in its surging popularity.
