Background Information

Dr Zubair Post graduate training was from one of the highest rated medical universities (Aga khan University Hospital) in the world. Higher specialist training in pain management from tertiary care centre and renowned international JCIA accredited Shifa International hospital was undertaken. He worked as Consultant Anaesthetics and Pain at Shifa International Hospital (2013-2022). He did his super speciality Fellowship in Pain from World Institute of Pain and also from Faculty of Pain Medicine Royal College of Anaesthetics. He has been trained in the more complex interventional procedures including spinal cord stimulation, Dorsal root ganglion stimulation and reactive 8 neurostimulator implants.  

Dr Zubair is Consultant for Pain Services in East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2022 and has organised international pain events. Dr Zubair’s current NHS commitments are spread between the QEQM hospital, Margate and the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury.

Dr Zubair incorporates both UK and international best practices into his clinical work, leveraging his experience collaborating with multicultural communities to gain a deep understanding of diverse pain beliefs and healing traditions. He believes that all pain management strategies should be a combined medical, interventional and psychological approach to ensure optimum results and patient well-being.

Dr Zubair is part of a full multidisciplinary team to deliver a full Spinal cord stimulation service for Kent, in particular for His special interest area for pain management is facial pain and headaches for which he has expertise to perform Trigeminal and occipital nerve blocks and neuromodulation techniques like radiofrequency denervation and peripheral nerve stimulation.
