Miss Lana Fu is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with training and expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of Cataracts, Cornea, and External Eye Disease.
Miss Fu completed her studies at Manchester Medical School and began her ophthalmic training at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh in 2014. Miss Fu undertook her higher ophthalmic training in the North West Deanery and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in 2017.
After completing 18 months of advanced subspecialist training (TSC & fellowship) in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Miss Fu furthered her interest in Corneal disease by serving as a Senior Cornea Fellow at King's College Hospital in London for an additional two years.
In December 2021, Miss Fu was appointed as a substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist at King's College Hospital. Subsequently, she was recruited to East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust in 2024. Since beginning her journey at East Kent, Miss Fu has worked alongside colleagues to implement new treatment modalities for patients. Miss Fu serves as a Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Lecturer at Kent and Medway Medical School, where she participates in the training of the future medical workforce.
In Miss Fu's professional environment, she derives satisfaction in working alongside colleagues who share similar values, enhancing her clinical interests, and participating in innovative approaches to address genuine clinical challenges. Miss Fu has made contributions to the Tshemba Foundation's Blindness Prevention Program in South Africa.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Miss Fu derives pleasure from touring the Kent countryside, hiking, cycling, and doing family activities.
