Mr Carl Kotze is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury serving the Kent population.

Mr Kotze returned to Kent after completing the Open and Endovascular Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, Australia, having trained in London units and locally, to be appointed as Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury.

Mr Kotze has over 20 years of broad international surgical experience and has been privileged to have exposure to diverse health care systems and surgical disciplines in four countries which has helped to shape him as a surgeon and enabled him to gain valuable skills which he continually updates in line with current research and evidence. He strives towards excellence and patient centred care with all his patients.

Mr Kotze qualified from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and went on to work in rural medicine in Northern South Africa and Northern Manitoba, Canada before commencing his higher surgical training in the UK, training in London and the South East of England. 

He had the Open and Endovascular Fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, Australia and was awarded a Medical Doctorate from University College London, studying aortic aneurysm with cutting edge imaging modalities such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT).

Mr Kotze has published in peer reviewed papers and presented his work at national and international forums.

Mr Kotze is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and member of the UK Vascular Society as well as being a Co-Clinical Lead and Critical Limb Ischaemia Lead at Kent and Medway Vascular Services.

He is co-investigator for several research studies currently conducted in the Kent research community.

Mr Kotze now lives with his family, as part of the local community in the beautiful county of Kent. He enjoys participating in local charity work.
