Background Information

Dr Grosser attended medical school in Erlangen, Germany and completed a scientific research project in brain electro-physiology, followed by a doctorate in medicine.

He came to England to complete his junior doctor training between 1997 and early 2000, achieving a first class pass in the prestigious membership examination for the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr Grosser undertook cardiology speciality training in Maastricht, under Professor Wellens, and gained world-leading experience in arrhythmia at this pioneering unit.

In 2004, he returned to England to work as a Cardiologist in the UK's busiest centre for interventional cardiology, Leeds General Infirmary. This provided valuable additional sub-specialty training in interventional cardiology.

He then completed an international fellowship at the renowned Petie Salpetriere Hospital in Paris, training under Professor Montalescot, a world-leading authority in acute coronary syndromes/heart attacks.

Subsequently, he moved to the University Hospital Njmegen as a full-time interventional cardiologist, consolidating his interventional cardiology experience.

On his return to the UK, Dr Grosser took up a substantive post at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust, serving Margate, Canterbury and Ashford.

In 2010 he successfully undertook the first primary angioplasty in Ashford for an acute heart attack patient and helped to establish this award-winning service. He is also the local priority group lead for cardiovascular research at East Kent Hospitals and is involved in international cardiovascular trials.

Dr Grosser was awarded the prestigious 5 start Excellence Award from IwantGreatCare.org for 2019 and 2020.
