Long Covid Screening Clinic
Spencer Private Hospitals have worked with our consultants to create a new Long Covid screening clinic. Specialist appointments are now available with our expert consultants who will provide patients with bespoke in-depth advice to promote self-management, after care and also advise on onward referrals to further specialisms if required. The cost for this is £250 but additionally, patients may be advised to undertake further tests including chest x-rays, echocardiograms (ECG) and spirometry in order to fully compliment the appointment.*

What is Long Covid?
You may have heard recently in the media and within general conversation the term ‘Long Covid’ and be asking yourself what it means. Long Covid (also known as Post-Covid Syndrome) is a newly discovered post-viral long-term condition suffered by some patients who previously contracted Covid 19. The effects of coronavirus for some people can be felt weeks and even months after the infection has passed. Recovery time will differ from patient to patient depending upon presenting problems and condition can impact patients in multiple ways including (but not limited to) breathing difficulties, fatigue, chest pain and tightness as well as abdominal pains.
Common symptoms of Long Covid
Extreme tiredness (fatigue)
Shortness of breath
chest pain or tightness
Problems with memory and concentration ("brain fog")
Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
Heart palpitations
Dizziness
Pins and needles
Joint pain
Depression and anxiety
Tinnitus, earaches
Feeling sick, diarrhoea, stomach aches, loss of appetite
A high temperature, cough, headaches, sore throat, changes to sense of smell or taste

No. We do not admit or see anyone who presently has the virus or is in a period of isolation.
If you still have symptoms as listed above and it has been at least 4 weeks since you tested positive for the Covid 19.
This appointment will be able to compliment any existing care plans you may already have in place as well as provide further investigations through our diagnostic equipment.

This number is staffed Monday-Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm.
Patients will attend a 35 minute private appointment with our specialist consultants. If additional tests are recommended, your care may also include an ECG, Spirometry and an X-ray administered by one of our highly skilled nursing staff.
The initial consultation will take 35 minutes. If further tests are undertaken, we aim to have these completed within 2 hours.
